Walter is a Baton Rouge Businessman and Entrepreneur. He is passionate about Finance and has spent many years in the sector in the Baton Rouge area. Starting with his MBA at Louisiana State University, Walter then worked for several businesses in the finance and investment space before launching Commonweath Advisors Inc. in 1991 where he served as both President and Chief Investment Officer. Here, he also oversaw the firm’s balanced, fixed income, and distressed asset portfolios.
Walter also its on the Board of Directors for multiple different businesses around the Baton Rouge area and remains active in the community.
Walter is also passionate in the education field and founded a non-profit foundation called the Louisiana Achievement Charter Academies which runs several charter schools in the Baton Rouge area.
Among his other interests, Walter is actively involved with improving racial disparity and the urban education system. He has a scholarship to raise awareness for this called the Walter Morales Scholarship for Urban Education Improvement.
